Long-Term Resident Visa : LTR Visa

    The new Long-Term Resident (LTR) visa that aims at attracting hing-potential foreigners also include wealthy individuals holding at least USD 1 million in assets, The new scheme is expected be ready for applications from September 2022 according to the Board of Investment (BOI).

The 4 categories of LTR Visa

1. Wealthy Global Citizen

Criteria

     1. At least USD 1 million in assets

     2. Personal income of a minimum of USD 80,000 /year in the past two years

     3. Investment of at least USD 500,000 in Thai government bonds, foreign direct investment, or Thai property

Key Benefits

     1. 10 years renewable visa for applicant and dependants

     2. 90-day report extended to 1-year report and exemption of re-entry permit

     3. Exemption form 4 Thais to 1 foreigner employment requirement ration

     4. Fast Track Service at Inernational Airports in Thailand

     5. No personal income tax for income from foreign sources Zfor those who stay longer than 180 days)

     6. Permission to work in Thailand (Digital Work permit)

Wealthy Global Citizen

2. Wealthy Pensioner Visa

Criteria

     1. Retirees aged 50 years and older

     2. Personal income of at least of USD 80,000 /year at the time of application

     3. In case of personal income below USD 80,000/year but no less than USD 40,000/year, applicants must invest at least USD 250,000 in Thai government bonds, foreign direct investment, or Thai property

3. Work-Form-Thailand Visa

Criteria

     1. Personal income of a minimum of USD 80,000/year in the past two years

     2. In case of personal income below USD 80,000/year but no less than USD 40,000/year in the past two years, applicants must have a Master's degree or above or own intellectual property or receive Series A funding 

     3. Current employer is a public company on a stock exchange or a private company in operation for at least three years with combined revenue at least USD 150 million in the last three years

     4. At least 5 years of work experience in the relevant fields of the current employment over the past 10 years

 Work-Form-Thailand Visa

4. Highly-skilled professional

Criteria

     1. Personal income of a minimum of USD 80,000/year in the past two years

     2. In case of personal income below USD 80,000/year but no less than USD 40,000/year in the past two years or before retirement, applicants must have a Master's degree or above in science and technology or special expertise relevant to the job assignment in Thailand 

     3. No minimum personal income for professionals working for Thai government agencies

     4. Business in any targeted industries, higher education institution, research institution, specialized training institiution, or Thai government agency

     5. At least 5 years of work experience in the targeted industries except for applicants with a PhD or above in the relevant fields of the targeted industries or applicants working for Thai government agencies
